Beautyshot Roger DigiMaster

Q: How many rooms per building can Roger SoundField be used in?

A: Roger SoundField systems can be used without restrictions in all classrooms in a school building. The intelligent digital transmission technology ensures that no channel switching or planning is required.

Q: Where should the DigiMaster 5000 loudspeaker be placed in the classroom?

A: Ideally, the DigiMaster 5000 should either be placed in the front or the back of the class, on its floor stand or mounted on the wall.

For ideal placement, it is also recommended to take the following aspects into account:

  • Avoid noise sources between the DigiMaster 5000 and students
  • Avoid long power cables between the DigiMaster 5000 and the power outlet
  • Find a place that doesn’t disturb teachers’ and students’ traffic patterns

Q: What size room can the DigiMaster 5000 be used in?

A: The DigiMaster 5000 is designed for use in rooms measuring up to 100 square meters (1076 sq. ft) or roughly 100 listeners.

Q: What size room can a pair of DigiMaster 7000s be used in?

A: One pair of DigiMaster 7000 loudspeakers is designed for use in rooms measuring up to 300 square meters (3230 sq. ft) or roughly 300 listeners.

Q: Can I use a DigiMaster 5000 loudspeaker with a DigiMaster 7000?

A: No. Only a pair of DigiMaster 7000 loudspeakers can be used simultaneously with the same transmitter.

Q: Can I use two DigiMaster 5000s together?

A: No. A DigiMaster 5000 is designed to be used alone. Only a pair of DigiMaster 7000 loudspeakers can be used simultaneously with the same transmitter.

Q: Can I use Roger SoundField with an interactive whiteboard or TV?

A: The DigiMaster 5000 loudspeaker features an audio input socket. With this, you can easily connect an external audio source, such as a smartboard, TV, or computer.

Q: How do I connect to an interactive whiteboard that doesn’t have an audio output?

A: This is possible using the whiteboard-connected computer and two transmitters that are already connected to a Phonak MultiTalker Network (MTN).

One transmitter is the initiator or ‘master’ device. This is worn by the speaker. You then require a male 3.5mm (0.13-inch) to 2 female 3.5mm splitter (bought separately).

Plug the splitter’s male end into to the computer’s headphone output. Then connect one female end to the DigiMaster 5000 or 7000, and the other to the secondary transmitter.

Q: Is Roger SoundField an energy-saving system?

A: Roger SoundField fulfills the latest Eco design standards for Europe released in January 2010. When the DigiMaster 5000 is switched off, its power consumption is less than 0.5W. In stand-by mode it is less than 1W. During normal operation in class, the DigiMaster 5000 typically consumes about 3W. This is a mere fraction of the energy used to light a classroom and hence a fraction of the energy cost.
